Hallo! Guten Tag! Welcome to German!
My name is Frau Grosklos. I am proud to have been teaching German to Olentangy students for 12 years now. I am a very lucky person, because every day I get to combine three of my greatest passions into one task: kids, teaching, and Germany! I consider world language teaching and learning among the most important lessons in school, because it is about so much more than just sounds and grammar. It is about life, people, how we interact as diverse humans, and how we try to understand one another, both linguistically and socially.
Furthermore, although English is widely used in international communication, intercultural competence and the ability to speak foreign languages become increasingly important for a deeper mutual understanding, and for the development of lasting relationships, both personal and professional. As one of the United States' closest allies and trading partners, and as leader of the European Union and the 4th largest economy in the world, it is evident that a knowledge of German can be an advantage for you as you seek out a career in the future!
